A native of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Glenn Davis grew up in Drexel Hill and graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1974. At Widener University, he majored in Political Science and minored in English. It wasn't until his junior year in college that he made the decision to be a lawyer.
"There weren't any lawyers in my family," he said. "I'm not sure I had ever even met a lawyer at that point. But, my grades were good. That was when I decided to go to law school."
Glenn earned his J.D. from Widener in 1981, and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and, after completing Officer Candidate School and Naval Justice School, served on active duty as a Judge Advocate. He attained the rank of Captain before returning to civilian life in 1985.
Returning to Pennsylvania, Glenn went to work in the Chester County District Attorney's office where he spent five years prosecuting major criminal cases. He left the DA's office in 1990 and was hired by a Philadelphia litigation firm where he spent the next 10 years honing his skills as a trial attorney.
When the opportunity to join Buckley, Brion, McGuire, Morris & Sommer, LLP presented itself in 2000, Glenn welcomed the opportunity to return to Chester County. His practice is focused on commercial and personal injury litigation; criminal defense; and labor litigation.
"My greatest satisfaction is being able to take a client through the process successfully," he said. "I enjoy helping them realize their goals whether it's defending a client in a lawsuit or criminal case or pursuing claims on behalf of an aggrieved party."
In January 2007 Glenn was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with his U.S. Air Force Reserve unit. After his return in May, his Reserve unit was eliminated due to BRAC-base realignment and closure at the Willow Grove Air Reserve Station. As a result, Glenn is now a member of the 166th Civil Engineer Squadron, 166th Airlift Wing, Delaware Air National Guard in New Castle, Delaware.
Glenn was recently appointed as first sergeant for the 166th Civil Engineer Squadron, his USAF First Air National Guard unit. He acts as the advisor and assistant to the commander. He attended the Sergeant Academy at Maxwell Air Force Base, in Montgomery, Alabama in 2009. He also keeps busy as a member of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Jaguar Club (DVJC) and the Philadelphia MG Club, Inc. (PMGC.) He has been instrumental in amending the bylaws of the DVJC and incorporated as well as drafted the bylaws for the PMGC.
